How To Distinguish A Piece Of Fabric Is Direct Digital Printing Or Heat Transfer Printing Process?

- May 25, 2020-

A lot of times we think of the digital printing process when we look at a piece of complex pattern fabric, but how to distinguish the process depends on the fabric.

Step 1: confirm the fabric composition, cotton, polyester, hemp, silk, blending (composition proportion)

The second step: determine the process, active digital printing, acid digital printing, paint digital printing, distributed heat transfer digital printing.

Step 3:

Activity: cotton, hemp

Acidity: nylon, silk

Dispersion: Polyester

Coating: Cotton (dark color), blended

digital printing

First of all, if it's not polyester fabric, paper transfer can't be made. In general, digital printing can only be made for direct printing; in general, cotton, silk, linen, human cotton and other fabrics can only be made for direct printing, and active digital printing can also be used for paper transfer, but the cost is higher. Generally, it's unnecessary to use direct printing technology for transfer 。

If it is polyester fabric products, there is a big difference between the products made by direct spray digital printing and the products made by transfer digital printing, the most important difference is the permeability of the fabric. On the direct digital printing, the digital printing ink has good permeability and can directly penetrate into the reverse side of the fabric, so the pattern can be clearly seen on the reverse side of the fabric; while the transferred digital printing products generally only penetrate into the surface of the fabric front, while the reverse side is almost the original color of the fabric.

What is the main difference between these fabrics when they are made into clothes? There are two differences: on the one hand, the stitches are different. If it is paper transfer digital printing fabric, the stitches will be a little white, which is unacceptable for high-end clothing brands; on the other hand, paper transfer digital printing fabric is deep on one side and shallow on the other, so it is not suitable for scarves and other fabrics.

In addition, because the direct sprayed fabric needs washing and finishing after completion, and the digital printed fabric of heat transfer does not need any finishing after transfer, so there are some differences in the feel of the fabric and the floating color of the dye on the fabric.
