printed rayon viscose fabric
There is some confusion between the two terms: Viscose and Rayon. Viscose is actually a type of rayon, even though "viscose, viscose rayon," and "rayon" are often used interchangeably.
What started as "artificial silk" in the late 19th century became known as rayon in 1924, with the name "viscose" coming from "a viscous organic liquid used to make both rayon and cellophane." Keep in mind that modal and lyocell, along with viscose, are also considered types of rayon.
Viscose (Rayon) is a little weaker in strength than cotton, and thus is often used to make delicate, lighter clothing. Although light and breezy, this synthetic fiber, like all synthetic fibers, tends to be water-repellent.
"Crepe" is the name given to fabric having a crinkled or pebbled texture, often used for blouses and dresses with graceful drape. The word crape is the English form of the French word crepe.
Viscose Crepe. It is a plant based fabric that is processed to give a great feel because of the weight and drape. You can achieve looks that are hard to get with natural fibers like cotton, as it does not stick to under layers and the weight makes it hang close to the body and not bulk out.
Viscose is usually a very soft fabric and crepe has an obvious weave and usually drapes very nicely.
It does have one drawback though, a lack of dimensional stability when washed.
